BIO

Amanda Hanna-McLeer wears many hats. She is a writer, director, animator, and educator. She is at work on The Luddite Club, a documentary about teens who are rejecting social media and smartphones to rediscover IRL connections. She went to, and later taught at, Edward R. Murrow High School, the birthplace of the Luddite Club. She received a full tuition scholarship to attend the Rhode Island School of Design, where she received her BFA in Film, Animation, and Video. After graduating, she returned to her native NYC to eat her weight in L&B Spumoni Garden pizza. She also worked in post production on the critically acclaimed and Emmy winning FX show The Americans, Comedy Central’s Broad City, and HBO Max’s Search Party. Her original narrative film, Lucy(fer), was accepted into The Gotham’s Project Forum in 2019.
